Abstract: ABDUL HAKIM B. PASCAN., REYMARK C. LIBRINCA. Awareness on identity theft of students in Cavite State University Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Industrial Security Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. 2022. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Silkie C. Tuguinay, MSCJ. This study aimed to illustrate the level awareness of selected students of CvSU-Main on identity theft. Also, this study aimed to identify how the students of CvSU Main protect themselves and their personal data against identity theft amidst the pandemic. The main purpose of this study was to assess the level of awareness of selected students of CvSU on identity theft in terms of the concept of identity theft. The descriptive method was used in this study. The research instrument used in the study was survey forms (checklist and rating scale). This chosen instruments were used in the collection of data to test the validity and reliability of the research study being conducted. The participants of the study were 400 students of CvSU Main which were randomly selected using Slovin's formula. This study confirms that more than 70 percent of the selected respondents of the study —specifically students in CvSU Main—are aware of the concept of identity theft as well as its negative consequences. They are also aware of the factors that can contribute to identity theft, such as phishing, computer malware, and data breaches. Data breaches appear to be the factor with which the students are most familiar. To sum up, not all students have enough knowledge on identity theft and its negative effects. Keywords: Awareness, Identity theft, Measures
