Abstract: Malabanan, Allen Gaiza M. Socio- Demographic Profile and the Emotional Maturity of Young Couples from Selected Barangays at the Municipality of Amadeo, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2007, Adviser: Mr. Renato T. Agdalpen. This study aimed to determine the relationship between Socio-Demographic Profile and the Emotional Maturity of Young Couples. This study intended to answer the problem: "What is the Socio- Demographic Profile of the respondents? This study also aimed to answer: "What is the Emotional Maturity of the Young Couple respondents? " and is there a significant relationship between the Socio- Demographic Profile and the Emotional Maturity level of couple respondents ? The method utilized in this study is descriptive method. Respondents are gathered using Purposive Sampling Technique from selected barangays at the municipality of Amadeo, Cavite. Respondents were 50 young couples’ ages 18 to 24 years old. Based on the study, the researcher has come up with the findings that there is no significant relationship between Socio- Demographic Profile and the Emotional Maturity of Young Couples. Thus, Socio- Demographic Profile does not solely affect one's Emotional Maturity. As a proposition, the researcher recommends that even though they married at a young age, they can say that they are already mature enough to face the different challenges that may come to their life. The researcher s hoping that through this study, she could be able to add knowledge in the field of Psychology, whereas this study would be able to guide future researchers.
