The study titled “Profile, Values Orientation and Work Motivation of Public Elementary School Teachers in District I Indang, Cavite AY 2009-2010” was conducted in all elementary school teachers in District I, Indang Cavite from November 2009 to January 2010. A total of eighty eight teachers were the respondents of the study.
This aimed to 1) determine the profile of respondents in terms of a) age, b) gender, c) civil status, d) educational attainment, e) length of service and f) salary; 2) determine the level of values orientation of teachers in terms of personal values and professional values; 3) determine the level of work motivation of teachers; 4) determine if there is significant relationship of public elementary school teachers in terms of a) profile and values orientation; b) profile and work motivation c)values orientation and work motivation.
Based on the findings, it shows that most of the respondents were forty six years old and above and mostly were female and married. They have Bachelor’s degree in Education and Masteral units in Elementary Education and have been in service for sixteen years and above. Most of them received a salary of ten to fifteen thousand a
month.
Based on the findings, most of the respondents have very high personal values orientation and very high professional values orientation. The findings also revealed that the majority of the respondents have very high work motivation. Results revealed that instructional management 1s significantly related to age. Gender has no significant relationship to the respondent’s values orientation. In terms of self, the result shows that it is significantly related to civil status. It also shows that there is no significant relationship between educational attainment and values orientation of the respondents.
Likewise, the study reveals that length of service has significant relationship between values orientation in relation to government and lesson planning. On the other hand,
salary and values orientation of the public elementary school teachers have no significant relationship. The result also reveals that the profile of the respondents such as age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, length of service and salary has no significant relationship to the respondent’s work motivation. Lastly, the result shows that values orientation in terms of self, instructional management, mastery of learning and instructional materials has significant relationship to work motivation.
