Abstract: PINPIN, MA. ANGELIE I. Demographic Characteristics, Self Acceptance and Interpersonal Relationship of Students in the Non-Degree Programs at Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2011. Thesis Adviser: Mrs. Imelda R. Filart. This study was conducted to find out the relationship of demographic characteristics, level of self acceptance and interpersonal relationship of students in the non-degree programs at Cavite State University. Specifically it aimed to: 1) identify the demographic characteristics of students in the non-degree programs in terms of age, gender and year level; (2) determine the level of self acceptance of the students; (3) determine the level of interpersonal relationship of students; and (4) identify the significant relationship of self acceptance and demographic characteristics, interpersonal relationship and demographic characteristics, and self acceptance and interpersonal relationship of students. The respondents of the study were students in the Non-Degree Programs. Random Sampling was used in this study. The research instruments used in the study were both lifted and modified and have been validated by the statistician. The first questionnaire is the “Level of Self Acceptance Scale” composed of 39 items, lifted and modified from Rathus and Nevid (1998) to determine the level of self acceptance of the students and the “Interpersonal Relationship Scale” composed of 36 items which is lifted and modified from Lopez (2008) to determine the level of interpersonal of the respondents. Results revealed that the demographic characteristics in terms of age, gender and year level were not significantly related to self acceptance meaning there is no relationship between the variables. Furthermore, interpersonal relationships and demographic characteristics in terms of age and gender were also not related to each other. However, in terms of year level, it was revealed that it has significant interpersonal relationships. Lastly, the relationship between self acceptance and interpersonal relationship was rejected meaning there is significant relationship between the two variables
