Abstract: CARIASO, CHARLENE KIM P. Quality Assurance Operation of Raw Materials and Finished Products at Farmtec Food Incorporated. Plan Practice. Bachelor of Science in Food Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Aitee Janelle E. Reterta. A plant practice was undertaken at Farmtec Food Incorporated located at 112 JP Rizal St. Brgy. Sabutan, Silang, Cavite from November 11, 2013 — January 9, 2014. The plant practice aimed to provide knowledge and develop the skills of the student in the inspection of raw materials; obtain hands-on experience in performing physico-chemical analysis of raw materials and finished product; and acquire proper working approach and interaction with others. Inspection and physico-chemical analysis of raw material and finished product such as percent moisture determination, pH value determination, percent titratable acidity determination, and sand content determination were conducted by the student. Determination of sterility of the equipment used in production was also experienced by the student . The student experienced in-line monitoring under the tolling services of the Farmtec Foods Incorporated which include: weight monitoring, seal monitoring, glue seal monitoring and code monitoring. As part of GMP audit, the author also experienced auditing of personnel under the main plant of the company. The student was given a chance to conduct research and development about ube powder and yam grits and was able to formulate a processing technology for ube halaya. The knowledge, developed skills, working attitudes learned and experiences acquired during the plant practice served as foundation to prepare the student for her future profession.
