This case study was conducted at the MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation located at MAPFRE Insular Corporate Center, Acacia Avenue, Madrigal Business Park, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City from July 1, 2013 to September 3, 2013. This was conducted to allow the student to apply her gained knowledge in Business Management, especially in Financial Management, to actual experiences and real life working conditions. The study aimed to analyze the fund management practices of MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation and specifically to (1) describe the section involved in the fund management of the firm. (2) describe the policies and procedures on fund management of the firm; (3) determine the level of implementation of policies and procedures in fund management of the firm; (4) analyze the existing fund management of the firm; (5) identify improvement areas the fund management practices being implemented by the firm; and (6) recommend improvements in the existing fund management practices. Descriptive method was used in the study. Data were obtained through actual observations, personal interviews with key personnels of the company whose roles are related to the study. Other primary data were collected from office records, manuals and files. Secondary data were gathered from books and internet. The level of implementation of guidelines, policies, and procedures in fund management of MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation were found to be highly based on the performance measurements used. Policies and procedures were also found to be
implemented strictly.
