The study entitled "Life- Changing Experiences of Student Activists in Cavite State University- Main Campus was conducted in Cavite State University- Main Campus from June 2015 to March 2016. Generally, the study aimed to know the major life-changing experiences of being a student activist. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) Know the practices and advocacies of student activists; 2) Determine the reasons of the participants to participate in such activity; 3) Know the challenges that the participants encountered being a student activist; and 4) Know the life- changing experiences of the participants in terms of Academics, Leadership, and Social Engagement. The researcher used the Phenomenological method of research which is a qualitative method of inquiry that enabled the researcher to interpret various perspectives of respondents based on certain experiences. Interview method was used in collecting the data from the selected 10 participants. Voice recorder and an interview guide were utilized. Results showed that the advocacies of the student activists concerns mainly the issues on Education, Land distribution and conversion, Labor, and Rights of students, women, laborers, farmers, and other sectors. Their practices or their activities involved mostly of Educational discussions, Publications, Affiliating to organizations, Basic mass integration, and Studying history and issues of the society. What promotes or encourages them to be a student activist is the Awareness on the different issues inside and outside the university, Journalism, Curiosity, Personal fulfillment, Influence from parents, Expression of sentiments and Experience and these are their main reasons for participating in activism. The challenges they encounter for participating include contradiction from culture, family, professors, friends, the university and the state, threats to security, and commitment to academics and activism. Student Activists' life — changing experience in Academics are being more involved, applying concepts and ideas studied, learning legal procedures, advanced knowledge, and issues, training for future, and acquiring skills in reflective listening and critical thinking. In Leadership, their experiences on leadership training and speakers training, organizing committee system, being a leader and a follower, and having initiative on speaking and leading large groups of people have greatly affected their lives. Lastly, in Social Engagement, their life-changing experiences were Establishing connections with more people, approaching and interacting with more people, educational discussions, and integrating with the mass and different sectors.
