Abstract: The swine project was conducted to determine the cost and returns in raising hogs for fattening purposes at Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite from October 23, 1981 to March 1982. The source of stock was the Dona Crisanta Farm in Buckstate, Luksuhin , Alfonso, Cavite. The pen was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before the operation started. The average initial weight and average final weight was recorded as well as the monthly gain in weight. B-meg feeds were used during the whole operation. The hogs were sold at the age of 5 months on a wholesale basis. The project has an initial capital of P1,540.05 and with the net return of 319.05 The only problem met by the farmer and the Student Outreach Agent was the delayed release of capital (loan).
