A five-month enterprise project was conducted at Cavite State University from September 14, 2015 to January 29, 2016. The objectives of the project were: a) to identify the appropriate marketing strategies for chicken rice; b) to determine the profitability of the project ; and c) to identify the problems that may be encountered in the business and suggest feasible solutions. The initial capital of the enterprise was P30, 000.00, which was equally contributed by the entrepreneurs. The enterprise was engaged in the producing and selling Hainanese chicken rice in different flavors such as barbeque, teriyaki, and sour and spicy. The enterprise also offered Milo Dinosaur that originated from Singapore. The project covered the business functions such as production and operation, finance, human resource and marketing. The enterprise was formed under a partnership type of ownership. Through this project the entrepreneurs were able to apply their knowledge in managing a business, skills and techniques in actual operation. Likewise, they also gained experiences in performing the different activities in operating a business such as decision making, social relations and implementation of various business strategies to survive in the business. Data and information needed in the operation were gathered during the actual business operations and observations. The project diminished a net loss of P5, 120.57 after the five-month operation the business. The enterprise generated gross sales of P 49,240.00 and generated a gross profit of P15, 159.35. The total fixed asset amounted to P6, 427.58. Problems encountered by the entrepreneurs included price increase of raw materials, climate disturbance, strong competition in the area, negative feedback from customers, and spoilage of raw materials. However, solutions to the problems were applied by the entrepreneurs to continue the operation of the project.
