Abstract: FALLAGO, LJ VERICE S., JUNDIS, JELEIZA Z. Development of Smart Fuzzy Logic Controlled Mushroom Growth Chamber. Undergraduate Design Project Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Dr. Edwin R. Arboleda Fuzzy logic was a modern control technology that was designed to replicate human decision-making. In comparison to other types of control systems, fuzzy logic is easier to understand, more straightforward, and more versatile. Conventional mushroom growing methods, on the other hand, result in poor growth due to a lack of capital or cultivation space, lack of information about the cultural process, and adverse climate conditions. The fundamental goal of the study was to create a fuzzy logic- controlled mushroom growth chamber that provides an optimal environment for mushroom productivity and quality improvement. The fuzzy logic control system automates the adjustment of significant parameters particularly temperature, relative humidity (RH), carbon dioxide (CO2), and light intensity. The significant parameters can be wirelessly monitored with the use of the internet of things (IoT) and the data was stored in an online databank. The user can easily operate the functionality of the mushroom growth chamber with help of a graphical user interface (GUI). The study concludes that the growth chamber has efficiently stabilized the environment inside the chamber to an acceptable intended value, allowing it to satisfy the optimal environmental needs of the chosen mushroom specie through technical testing and evaluation. The study also demonstrated that fuzzy logic control boosted mushroom yield weight significantly more than an on/off controller. The device's cost was anticipated to be compensated by its benefits after 0.768 years of constant operation.
