Lived Experiences of Working 3^ Year Medical Technology Students of Cavite State University - Main Campus A.Y. 2020-2021: An Eye Opener. Undergraduate Thesis. The study was conducted at Cavite State University - Main Campus, College of Nursing, Department of Medical Technology from September 2020 to May 2022. It aimed to determine the lived experiences of 3"^ year Medical Technology students who are working while studying in Cavite State University - Main Campus. Specifically, it aimed to. determine the needs of participants to work and study at the same time; determine the struggles of working participants while studying; and determine the adaptation capabilities of working participants in handling the struggles they experienced. The study utilized an interpretative phenomenological qualitative research design which summarized the lived experiences of the eight (8) working 3"^ year Medical Technology students. In this study, the phenomenon were the working Medical Technology students and their lived experiences which their needs, struggles, and adaptation capabilities was determined in terms of as they verbalized during the interview. An online semi-structured interview was used to explore working students. This was done using virtual platforms zoom such as google meet and since face-to-face Interview was not allowed due to the pandemic. The verbatim of the eight (8) working 3"^ year Medical were transcribed, and analyzed using an interpretative the experiences of Technology students phenomenological approach until saturation of themes was achieved. Data analysis revealed the needs of working Medical Technology students such as financial. Informational, support system, psychological, time, and material needs for them to be able to work and study at the same time. Moreover, as they started getting a job, several struggles were experienced by them such as conflict in time, academic, physical, and mental health, social relationship, financial, and safety in employment that affect their life while working and studying at the same time. Nevertheless, they used different adaptation capabilities to cope with the struggles they experienced. Majority of working Medical Technology students used positive way of adaptation such as time management, motivation, relaxation and recreation, social support, religiosity, and tolerance. Meanwhile, only few working students used negative ways of adaptation such as over activity, avoidance, and emotional release. The results of this study served as an eye opener for everyone, most especially to the higher education institutions. Therefore, it is recommended to determine ways on how to improve the learning strategies and address the mental, psychological, and social concerns and education needs of working Medical Technology students.

The study was conducted at Cavite State University - Main Campus, College of Nursing,
