Abstract: A research study entitled "Ripening of Chico as Affected by Varying Length of Exposure to Sunlight" was conducted at the practice house of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indany, Cavite from February 25 to March 2, 1987. It aimed to find out which Length of exposure to sunlight will ripen the chico fruit faster and ts know which treatment will produce the sweetest ripened chico. | Twelve boxes of the same size secured. Each box was lined with clean plastic sheets on all sides and top portion and double lined with newspaper on the Sides and bottom in order to have a controlled temperature. The treatments used are the following: Treatment 1 (control) Treatment 2 (2 hours), Treatment 3 (4 hours), and Treatment 4 (6 hours). Among the different treatments, Ty (6 hours) was found to be the best. It registered the shortest ripening period with a mean of 3.2 days and produced the deliciously sweet and acrid sweet chico fruits, “t also registered the highest loss in weight with a mean of 3.5 grams. Using the analysis of variance, it was found to have significant and highly significant results among the different parameters gathered.
