Abstract: MARCELLANA, KIMBERLYN U., SANDAGAN, KALE C. Intervention Among Children with Special Needs in Selected Public Schools in Cavite: Implication to Social Work Practice. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Department of Social Sciences in Humanities. College of Arts and Science. Adviser: Merlie C. Nahilat, RSW, MSW. The study was conducted to know the intervention among children with special need in selected public schools in Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to (1) determine the demographic profile of children with physical disability in selected public schools in Cavite. (2) identify the issues being experienced by: children with physical disability, parents and teachers. (3) find out the intervention undertaken by the social workers to assist children with physical disability in public schools. The research was a qualitative study and with the use of purposive sampling technique, twenty (20) participants were involved in the descriptive-narrative study conducted from November 2018 to February 2019 in the municipalities of Alfonso, General Trias, Indang, Kawit and Noveleta. Generally, educational assistance, medical assistance, referral system, assistive devices, and orientation and seminars Ibr the awareness of the community regarding the children with disability are the interventions given by the social workers. According to the participants, those mentioned interventions were useful and applicable to the primary needs of the children and based on the gathered issues experienced by the children with physical disability, by the parent guardian of children with physical disability and by the teachers who handled children with physical disability.
