Abstract: ABURIDO, FAYE JOY O. and EVALLA, MA. NIKIUE D. Travellers on the Go: A Guide for Locating Hotels, Apartetles and Retreat Houses in Tagaytay City. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2017. Adviser: Ms. Aiza E. Bihis. The study was conducted from September 2016 to April 2017 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to develop an android application that will help travelers locate hotels, apartelles and retreat houses in Tagaytay City. Specifically, it aimed to: 1.identify and analyze the problems by gathering information through research and interview to derive at the problem encountered; 2.design and develop an android with interactive map that will be able to display hotels, apartelles and retreat houses using the platform android studio with Java, Google API for integrating the map and Adobe Photoshop for enhancing images; 3.gather general information about hotels, apartelles and retreat houses and utilizing it to the proposed system through providing an information module for the traveller; 4.integrate a most visited places or landmarks module that will display locations of places or landmarks that travellers could visit during their stay in Tagaytay City; and 5.test and evaluate the system through series of tests such as unit, integration and system testing for further adjustment and development. The rapid prototyping model was used by the proponents as the development methodology. Rapid prototyping methodology is consisting of five (5) phases: develop outline specification, build prototype, test prototype, system adequate and deliver system. The system is capable of locating hotels, apartelles and retreat houses in Tagaytay City. Furthermore, the system also includes and locate a predefined list of most visited places that travellers can visit. The system has four modules, namely: information, map, landmark and price range module. The system undergo unit testing, integration testing and evaluation to ensure efficiency of the system and the accuracy of the data presented. Fifty travellers and ten IT experts evaluated the system to verify functionalities. The overall respondents were sixty. The system was evaluated based on seven categories namely: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability and user-friendliness. The results of the evaluation show an outstanding remark of excellent proving that the objectives and requirements of the system were achieved.
