Abstract: A Farm Practice entitled "Production and Management of Gynoecious Pickling amber Using Abaca String as Trellis" was conducted at the Central Experimental won of the Cavite State University (formerly Don Severino Agricultural College) in Indang Cavite from December 1996 to March 1997. The project aimed to help the axle project gain expertise in handling and managing a small-scale cucumber production project Specifically, it aimed to: (1) adopt new technology in raising gynoecious pickling cucumber using abaca string; (2) determine the profitability of using abaca string as trellis; to pickling cucumber, and (3) demonstrate the technique of vertical trellising using abaca string as support to plants in improving cucumber production. A total of 395 kilograms of cucumber was harvested from which 185 kilograms gherkins was harvested. The project's production cost was 1) 5,305.20 of which 53.16% or P 2,820.00 was for the labor. The gross income amounted to P 8,400.00. A net income of P 3,094.80 was realized. The Return on Investment (ROI) was 58.34%.
