Abstract: CREENCIA, JULIUS, P., Applied Reseacrh IV (Agricultural Science Curriculum), Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, March 1994, “Growth Response of Anthuriun (Anthurium andreanum Linn.) as Affected by Compost Leaves of Legumes Mixed with Cow Manure”. Adviser: Mr. Epifanio H. Feraer This study was conducted to determine the effect of madre de cacao, ipil-ipil and calopogoniun compost on the growth of anthurium plants. It also aimed to determine which among the three composted legume leaves mixed with cow manure is best suited for the growth of anthurium. A total of 64 anthurium suckers was arranged in RCBD with four treatments and four replications. The treatments were: Ty-control, Tg-50 grams of composted madre de cacao with 50 grams cow manure per pot, T3-50 grams of composted ipil-ipil with 50 grams cow manure per pot, and T4-50 grams of composted calopogonium with 50 grams of cow manure per pot. Highly significant results were obtained in the average height of plants, average stem diameter, average length of leaf blade, average width of leaf blade and number of leaves. Based on the results of the study, the use of legume leaves aS compost gave a significant effect on the growth of anthurium plants. It was also found that ipil-ipil compost mixed with cow manure is best suited for the growth of anthurium.

This study was conducted to determine the effect of madre de cacao, ipil-ipil and calopogoniun compost on the growth of anthurium plants.

Highly significant results were obtained in the average height of plants, average stem diameter, average length of leaf blade, average width of leaf blade and number of
leaves.

Based on the results of the study, the use of legume leaves aS compost gave a significant effect on the growth of anthurium plants. It was also found that ipil-ipil compost mixed with cow manure is best suited for the growth of anthurium.
