Abstract: ESCALANTE, RAQUEL ( C. Applied Research IV (Agricultural Science Curriculum) Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April 1989. VASELIFE OF CHRYSANTHEMUM (Chrysanthemum morifolium) AS AFFECTED BY DIFFERENT LIQUID MEDIA. Adviser; Mrs. Edna A.Vida. The study was conducted to: 1) determine the effects of the different liquid media on the vase life of chrysanthemum 2) select which among the liquid media is the best. A total of 45 freshly harvested chrysanthemums were used in the experiment set in a complete randomized design (CRD) with three replication and three sample units. The different media used in the experiment were: T) - 100 ml Water (Control), T> - 50 ml Mirinda Orange + 50 ml Water 250 ml Pepsi + 50 ml Water, T, - 30 ml Sarsi + 50 ml Water, 2s, - 50 ml Sugarcane juice + 50 ml Water. This study revealed that the control or 100 ml Water is the best treatment media in prolonging the number of days from soaking to softening of stem and number of days from soaking to wilting of chrysanthemum. On the other hand, 50 ml Pepsi + 50 ml Water can be a good alternative in prolonging the full plooming of chrysanthemum flowers. Furthermore, garsi significantly lowered the vaselife of chrysanthemum, showing that chrysanthemum flowers should not be treated in high sugar content media.
