Abstract: Romen, Alvin S. Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, March, 1989, "Comparative Study on the Survival Performance of Grafted and Inarched Tomato to Eggplant". Adviser: Mr. Epifanio Feraer. The study was conducted at Poblacion, Indang, Cavite in September 1988 to January 1989. This study was done to determine the survival rate of grafted and inarched eggplant and tomato and to find out which of the two (2) methods of asexual propagation is more recommended. A total of 60 pots planted with eggplant and tomatoes were used in the experiment. The 60 pots were divided into three groups constituting three (3) replications and further subdivided into another two (2) groups consisting two (2) treatments as follows: T, = inarched eggplant and tomato, and Ts = grafted eggplant and tomato. Based on the results of the experiment, the study revealed that treatment 1 (inarched tomato to eggplant) gave the highest percentage survival and earlier flower bud formation as compared to treatment 2 (grafted tomato to eggplant). With this finding, the author concluded that inarching eggplant and tomato was a better method of asexual propagation compared to grafting.
