"BS Criminology Internship Program of Cavite State University Main Campus: An Assessment" Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Criminology Cavite State Inversity, Indang Cavite. April 2018. Advise Famela Iza Cabe-Matic. This study was conducted from December 2017 to April 2018 in College of Criminal Justice BS Criminology and different agencies. The participants were the interns and stakehoders. Specifically, the study aimed to determine: Identify the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology in terms of internal policies required skills, knowledge, attitude, preparatory phase, intern supervisor, and intern management, Identify the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology in terms of: internal policies, required skills, knowledge, attitude, preparatory phase, intern supervisor and intern management and determine the significant difference between the assessment of interns and stakeholders to the internship program of CvSU BS Criminology. Based on the result of the study In terms of internal policies on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. The institution ensures the safety and protection of life and limb of interns at all times during-the practicum got the highest mean score of 4.76 with the verbal interpretation on "Excellent". It shows that the institution interns must prioritize the safety and protection so that they would not hesitate in every task that they are instructed to do so. They collect reasonable internship fee from interns who shall undertake the practicum got the lowest mean score of 2.34. It shows that not all of the interns are obligated to pay for their On the Job Training fee because they are not receiving any salary. In terms of required skills on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns have an open communication with the institution got the highest mean score of 4.76. It shows that an open and good communication will help the interns to improve their harmonious relationship with others. Interns possess leadership skills had the lowest mean score of 3.69. It shows that leadership skills were not necessary because interns must have an initiative in every task without any given instruction. In terms of knowledge on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns are expected to translate valuable work experiences as well as relevant knowledge into the field got the highest mean score of 4.87. It implies that having personal knowledge on their field makes their duties easily and properly. Interns have relevant ideas on the different facets of their field had the lowest mean score of 4.75. It shows that although the given statement got the lowest mean score it has a verbal interpretation of excellent which means it is necessary to have personal knowledge on their chosen field of work. In terms of attitude on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns treat everyone in the office with respect got highest mean score of 4.85. It implies that for the interns it is important to treat other people with respect to create a decent impression. Interns have positive attitude that is considered a "soft skill" had the lowest mean score of 4.72. Based on the assessment of the interns they evaluate this statement as low among others in terms of attitude although it is important to have a positive attitude or "soft skill" but in that case the interns must prioritize the attitude of having respect with others. In terms of preparatory phase on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns recognize his/her personal strength got the highest mean score of 4.62. It shows that having personal strength is needed to have a positive result upon accomplishment of their task. Interns recognize his/her personal weaknesses had lowest mean score of 4.41, for the interns their weaknesses does not affect in the performance of their duties, rather improving and enhancing it is more significant. In terms of intern supervisor on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Supervisor shows neatness and personal hygiene appropriate to position got the highest mean score of 4.81. it shows that being hygienic make them looked respectable and helps them boost their confidence in facing other people. Supervisor motivates their followers to perform beyond expectations by influencing them to pursue higher and convincing followers to replace their self-interest with the organizational interest had the lowest mean score of 4.54 In terms of intern supervisor on the assessment of interns to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Supervisor conducts monthly assessment, evaluates and proposes necessary modification and adjustment got the highest mean score of 4.85. It implies that conducting monthly assessment is necessary in observing and evaluating the changes needed regarding conflicts that requires immediate action. Supervisor assesses effectiveness in listening to others, expressing ideas and provides relevant and timely information had the lowest mean score of 4.62. it shows a positive statement but rated as the least priority among other statement in terms of intern management, interacting to others built a good relationship but sometimes it causes a misunderstanding. In terms of internal policies on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns are required to complete 540 hours had the highest mean of 4.69. It shows that it is a mandatory for the interns to render the required hours and they must improve their knowledge and skills upon completion of their task. They collect reasonable internship fee from interns who shall undertake the practicum had the lowest mean of 2.44, according to the assessment of stakeholders interns are not oblige to pay for their practicum, which essential is having a fruitful experience that they can apply in their chosen field of work. In terms of required skills on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns have an open communication with the institution got the highest mean of 4.60. It shows that if the interns create a good and open communication among others it would make their duties stress-free. Interns can report and other assessment concisely pertaining to any field got the lowest mean of 4.35 among the five statement it is graded as low, the interns is needed to set their priority. The interns must set their priority. In terms of knowledge on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns apply knowledge learned in the classroom in a professional/ actual setting got the highest mean score of 4.71. It shows that the knowledge they gained in the classroom is important upon application to actual work settings. Interns have ability and talents that can help them perform in the actual job got the lowest mean score of 4.49. It shows that it is the least priority of the stakeholders in assessing the interns, they believed that having personal knowledge and skills regarding their task is the most significant. In terms of attitude on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns treat everyone in the office with respect got the highest mean score of 4.85. It implies that it is the most needed attitude among others, having a good personality and treating everyone with respect is a way of showing that the interns are easily to discipline. Both Interns have positive attitude that is considered a "soft skill" and Interns have a strong self-confidence got the lowest mean score of 4.74. It shows that the interns are confused regarding the term "soft skill" and they do not know how to relate it to other statements in terms of attitude. In terms of preparatory phase on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Interns recognize his/her personal strength and Interns have gained the capacity to be more productive got the highest mean score of 4.69. It implies that knowing the personal strength of the interns are necessary in assigning task based on their ability, capacity and strength. Interns recognize his/her personal weaknesses got the lowest mean score of 4.54. It shows that if the interns are aware of their weaknesses it is easy to determine which of these acquires improvement that might serve as their strength in the future. In terms of intern supervisor on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Supervisor shows responsiveness and courtesy in dealing with internal staff, subordinates/colleagues got the highest mean score of 4.81 which means that it is also important to interact with the staff, subordinates/colleagues with courtesy and that they must be responsible to their action. Both Supervisor shows neatness and personal hygiene appropriate to position and Supervisor considers the needs of others before_ his/her personal needs got the lowest mean score of 4.71. It shows that interns personal hygiene is important to make a decent impression moreover the supervisors are obtaining the same attitude, they prioritize others welfare other than themselves. In terms of intern management on the assessment of stakeholders to the Internship program of CvSU B.S. in Criminology. Supervisor conducts monthly assessment, evaluates and proposes necessary modification and adjustment got the highest mean score of 4.74 which means that conducting an assessment is necessary in observing the management. Supervisor have the ability to work cooperatively with others got the lowest mean score of 4.56. It implies that although the statements are positive interns rated it low in terms to the ability of supervisor to work with others, because some of the supervisors do not treat their subordinates well. There is no significant difference between the assessment of interns and stakeholders to the internship program of CvSU BS Criminology in terms of internal policies, required skills, attitude, preparatory phase, intern supervisor and intern management. There is a significant difference between the assessment of interns and stakeholders to the internship program of CvSU BS Criminology in terms of knowledge.
