The study, Informatics on Stenography Using Mobile Application, was conducted to provide information in stenography that will provide the knowledge for students using smartphones and to enhance the skills of the students in reading a stenography. Specifically, it aimed to identify the problem through survey and interview, analyze the problem using fishbone diagram, design module application with the use of use case diagram and theoretical framework, develop a system with the use of Java as scripting language, Photoshop for the design and evaluate the system through unit and integration testing.
Prototype methodology was used on the development of the system. It is consists of four(4) phases: prototype requirement phase, prototype design phase, prototype system phase and testing application phase. The proponents used 2.30 GHz, 6GB RAM, 500 Gigabytes of hard disk drive; Windows 10 Operating System; and Android as Operating System of the mobile phone; Android Studio as the backbone or main software, internet connection for researching, Adobe Photoshop for creating buttons, icons and backgrounds that were used for the application and Microsoft Word for the documentation.
The system was evaluated by the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) students, Information Technology experts and BSOA professors in this university based on the following criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability and user- friendliness of the software and materials.
