Abstract: CALIAO, SHIELA MARIE A., HERBAS, JESSA T., and ROMERO, EVELYN A. Social Support, Peer-Identification, and Self-Presentation of Adolescent Self-Identified Tomboys in Selected Cities in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2018. Adviser: John Christian Paolo M. Belen, RPm. This study generally aimed to determine the relationship among the social support, peer-identification, and self-presentation of adolescent self-identified tomboys in selected cities in Cavite. Specifically, it sought to determine: (1) the level of social support received by the participants; (2) the strategies of self-presentation used by the participants; (3) the type of peer groups that the participants prefer to be identified; and (4) the significant relationship among the three variables. The study used a descriptive correlational method of research. Self-made tests namely: Social Support Test, the Self-Presentation Test, and Peer-Identification Test were used. Snowball sampling technique was also used. Based on the results, the adolescent self-identified tomboys had high level of social support. Ingratiation and exemplification were the most commonly used strategies of sell-presentation and the participants preferred to be identified with their homosexual peers. Also, findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between the level of social support and the strategies of self-presentation of the adolescent self-identified tomboys. This implies that the participants present themselves depending on the level of social support they receive from their family and peers.
