Abstract: MOJICA, REMIE AUSTRAL "Learning Styles and Behavior of Students Their Studies in Selected Public and Private Secondary Schools in Indang, SY 2005-2006". Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University 2005. Adviser: Mary Grace M. Rodrin. The study entitled " Learning Styles and Behavior of Students Toward Their Sham in Selected Public and Private Secondary Schools in Indang, Cavite SY 2005- 211106" was conducted during the second semester of school year 2005-2006 at. Indang National High school; Lumampong National High school; Saint Gregory Academy; and Perpetual Cavite Institute. This study was conducted to analyze the learning styles and behavior of students toward their studies in selected public and private secondary schools in Indang, Cavite in school year 2005-2006. Specifically, the study aimed to: present the profile of the respondents in selected public and private secondary schools in Indang, Cavite according to: age, gender, monthly family income, and general point average (GPA) in high school; determine the learning styles of the respondents in selected public and private secondary schools in Indang, Cavite; determine the behavior of the respondents toward their studies in selected public and private secondary schools in Indang, Cavite; and ascertain if there are significant differences in the learning styles and behavior of the respondents toward their studies in public and private secondary schools. A total of 180 respondents in selected public and private secondary schools in Cavite was considered in this study. The researcher used Descriptive Design. The Slovin's formula was used to the number of students to be included in this study. Kolb's (1983), "Learning Style Questionnaires" was used in collecting the data on learning styles of the respondents. The questionnaire was divided into five parts; each identified the aspect of the respondent's learning style. The behavior of the students their studies was determined through the questionnaire developed by Biggs , which was modified by the researcher. The questionnaire contains the following: time spent by the students in studying; and some questions pertaining to the students' habits. The study revealed that there were no significant differences in the learning styles 'public and private secondary school students in Indang, Cavite. Both groups of were found to be auditory, applied, verbal, social, and creative learners. A high school student from public and private secondary school in Indang, Cavite study four hours or less during weekdays and weekends. No notable difference found between the number of hours of study of students from public and private schools in weekdays and weekends. Dodd be noted that there were other characteristics similar to the respondents public and private secondary schools like their best time to study, habit of hearing music while studying and habit of watching television while studying, Results of test statistics revealed that there were no significant differences between the answers of the two groups of respondents on their best time to study, habit of hearing music while tidying and habit of watching television while studying. However, significant difference was found between the respondents from public and private secondary schools in terms of their habit of eating while studying. Most of the high school students from public schools preferred to eat while studying than students from private schools. Based on the preceding findings, it can be concluded that the learning styles of students from public and private secondary schools in Indang, Cavite were more or less the same. However, some of the behavior of the students from public and private secondary schools toward their studies showed marked differences.
