Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2008. Adviser: Prof. Lina C. Abogadie. A field study was conducted at Global Restaurant Concepts Inc.-California Pizza Kitchen (GRCI-CPK), Pasig City from November 12, 2007 to February 12, 2008 to enable the trainee to apply her gained knowledge and enhance her skills in actual business operations. Specifically, it aimed to describe the operations of the company; describe the marketing strategies used by the company; and identify the problems encountered by the company and recommend feasible solutions. Data on history of the firm, organization and management, motivation and incentives and marketing aspects were gathered from the records of the Human Resource Department and Marketing Department of the company. Plans, problems encountered by the firm and management policies and practices were obtained through personal interviews with the employees and observations in the daily operations of the company. Other information such as industry trends were gathered from the Internet. In general, Global Restaurant Concepts Inc.-California Pizza Kitchen has an effective management. It has highly qualified personnel, which is essential in running a successful business. California Pizza Kitchen offers foods and beverages which include pizza, appetizers, pastas, specialties, salads, soups focaccia sandwiches and beverages. The marketing strategies of California Pizza Kitchen include quality products and services, cost plus pricing, long run promotions, strategic location of outlets, and friendly service-oriented personnel. It offers quality products and services for class A and B markets. During the training, the trainee dealt with different kinds of people and performed clerical works, such as filing of documents and employees' requirements; communicating with the suppliers, store managers and press people through phone/fax machine; encoding applicantsV employees' information, employees' SSS loans and Philhealth records; checking and computing petty cash funds and charged tips; and printing/photocopying of workbooks, contracts and other documents.
